Wildlife, Comedy, BeeWise Book Launch and Northern Irish Bands
If you are interested in seeing the exhibit «Wildlife Photographer of the Year» in the evening, head to Basel's Natural History Museum on February 6. You can visit this exhibition at your leisure, followed by a relaxing drink at the museum bar.
Also on February 6: watch some of Switzerland's top comedy talent try out corporate comedy material in English. The show starts at 8 pm. From 4 pm to 5 pm that same afternoon, take your kids to the GGG Stadtbibliothek Basel West for some English Story Time for School Children.
Join the charity book launch of «Bee Wise – 12 Leadership Lessons from a Busy Bee Hive» on February 22 from 6 to 8 pm at The Braswell Arts Centre. Experience some of the lessons from the book and meet author Philip Atkinson and guest writers. Please RSVP to Rosilene@Hive-Logic.com.
Other events happening in and around Basel include the musical «Into the Woods» at the Theater Basel between February 7 and 23; a Wedding Fair at Schloss Binningen on February 9; and «Back to Bach» with Beatriz Blanco & Alexandre Foster at the Gare du Nord, also on February 9.
And our concert roundup includes Bullet for my Valentine & Trivium on February 5 and Tate McRae on June 18.
On another note, if you suddenly hear alarm sirens going off on Wednesday, February 5, starting at 1:30 pm, there is no need to worry – this is just the annual Switzerland-wide test of all their emergency alarm systems that always takes place on the first Wednesday in February.
Snow Patrol were in Zurich last weekend (see our review and photographs here), so our music theme was all about Northern Irish bands. We played:

Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know
ROE - Cheek, Boy
SOAK - Everybody Loves You
Ash - Girl From Mars
Foy Vance - Closed Hand, Full of Friends
Brand New Friend - I Was An Astronaut
The Wood Burning Savages - We Love You
